Today I'm taking place in the Allow me to Re-Introduce Myself Blogfest, created by Stephen Tremp along with his co-hosts Elise Fallson, Carolyn Brown and Mark Koopmans. This blogfest is an opportunity for me to re-introduce myself to you. Without further ado here's a little bit about me, for you.

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I'm the host of this blog. I have been happily married for twenty two years, have two kids, a boy and a girl, two pets, a dog and cat and two dishwashers, a must when you like to cook and entertain as much as I do. No, I don't have a big kitchen, I just have less cabinet space. I love writing and after purchasing ten desks over the past two decades, I've finally found one the works for me. I guess that explains why I'm (finally) on the second revision of my novel. If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you probably know all these things about me. What you might not know is that I got my first varsity letter in badminton. I love that game.

How about you? Is there anything you'd like to share with me? How many pets do you have? Have you found the perfect writing desk? What's a sport you love? Thanks for stopping by and allowing me to re-introduce myself to you. Please feel free to re-introduce yourself to me.

I have three cats, and one dishwasher that doesn't work. Oddly enough I mentioned dishwashers in my post too. I haven't yet found that perfect desk but I'm searching for it.

Wow! Happily married for twenty-two years - I'd love to read your marriage advice! How fun to introduce ourselves to someone new. Check us out at http://citymusecountrymuse2012.blogspot.com/

Good luck with those revisions! And since I use a laptop often just give me a comfy chair and a cup of coffee and that's my desk. And thanks for participating in Re-Introduce Myself!

You have TWO dishwashers???? Jenn, I have all new respect for you - so wise!!!!!! And so nice to re-meetcha!!!! Always love seeing your happy little face around the blogosphere!

Nice to meet you, Jenn. I have two dogs, one parrot, six canaries and 150 dwarves. :)

Ha, what a fun introduction! TWO dishwashers? I don't think I even have enough dishes to fill two of them. :)

I can see how two dishwasher can come in handy. I'm terrible at badminton but I'm always impressed to watch people who know what they're doing, play. My perfect desk would be pretty much anything other than what I'm working on right now. I've got back and shoulder problems because of this poor setup but soon, we should have a real office space and a real desk...I (and my shoulder and back) can't wait. (: Great to re-meet you!

Having two dish-washers AND two ovens is my goal. I had to ovens for a while. It was fantastic. I love racquetball.

Hey, Jenn!

I'm glad you finally found the perfect desk! I may need to get one too. Mostly, I just lounge in a recliner and prop my laptop on a pillow. Maybe if I get a desk, I'll feel like a real writer, lol. Nice to meet you! :)

@ S.P., good luck on the desk. the quest to find the perfect one is worth it.

@ Juliet, thanks for stopping by. The best advice I have is to work (daily) at being married. Most couples spend time planning the wedding and forget all about the marriage.

@ Stephen, coffee is also my working beverage.

@ Yvonne, thanks. They are coming along sloooowly.

@ Cathy, I really hate washing dishes.

@ Al, my daughter asked for a bird last week. I won't tell her how many you have.

@ Meredith, more dishes does mean more to wash.

@ Elise, I hope you get a new desk soon. I think (back and shoulder) pain was my motivating factor also.

@ Joy, I love racquetball too. Sadly, there are no courts where I live :(

Scribbles From Jenn said...

@ Celeste, nice to meet you too. If you are putting words on the page, you are a real writer.

Hi Jennifer, Your right, I knew all of this already. Except for your mastery of badminton. That is pretty cool.

New follower in me. Nice to meet you!

I WISH I had 2 dishwashers! With a family of 6, that'd sure come in handy.
That's so cool that you lettered in badminton! My parents introduced my brothers and I to it when we were little. I LOVE that game.

Hi Jenn! I totally dream of the days when I can have my own dishwasher (machine or maybe hired assistant)(heheheee) but for now I just have a few plants and a pile of dirty plates. Alas!

Hey Jenn. Great to re-meet you.
I have an adorable German Shepherd/Canadian wolf dog.

Writing desk? What's that? Have you heard that phrase - wherever I lay my hat, that's my home... well, wherever I pick up my pen, that's my writing space... LOL

Rachel said...

Hi Jen it's nice to meet you through this blog hop. I'm Rachel. *waves* I love cats. I also just finished a long process of revisions, so I feel ya!!!! It's hard to know when it ends but sometimes you need the final push or LOL....I did. :-) Hope your day is going well. See you around!

HI, Jenn,

Nice to re-meet you. Love the idea of two dishwashers.LOL. I love animals, and I have always had dogs until I lost the last four years ago. She was my baby for thirteen years. I am dying to get two more "kids," but I am stuck in a condo that doesn't allow dogs.... big mistake and LONG story....

I love my writing desk which is also my drawing table, but I write on the daybed with a computer table... it looks like a tilting breakfast tray, but it does have a flat surface for my coffee....YAY!

Badminton! We added it to our PE curriculum last year and it is our students' favorite. They ask all the time why we don't have interscholastic badminton. Fun fact about you. Basketball and softball for me in high school, track in college.

VikLit said...

How interesting that you played badminton! I admire that as I can't hit a ball with any sort of racket to save my life!

Nikki said...

What! You look so young in your picture, 22 years of marriage! Hehe, congrats anyway! It was nice reading some more about you, it's been a little while since I visited your blog! I'm glad to be reminded of how much I like it :)

I just got my first dishwasher and find it strange that it totally makes me feel like an "adult." I also have a fish and a pet goat (who currently lives with my mom). Nice to meet you!

Irene said...

Oh my two dishwashers. I'm curious what marvelous things you cook and bake in that kitchen of yours! Nice post :-)

Kern Windwraith said...

No dishwasher for me since my sister broke the door off a few years ago by falling on it. If I was doing as much entertaining as you, though, I'd definitely be looking for a replacement.

Congratulations on finding the perfect writing desk. My quest continues. :)

Nick Wilford said...

I'd need a writing room before I got a desk! I don't mind working at the kitchen table, the only drawback being... too temptingly close to the fridge. Lol.

I love badminton! I used to play all the time as a kid but I confess, I know nothing of the scoring and I suspect my 6 brothers n' sisters didn't either but we had lots of fun with it anyway. :) The only people I have ever known to have 2 dishwashers were the Jewish people I worked for and it had something to do with keeping their dishes separate. I thought it was so cool and I felt bad for them for not celebrating Christmas until they booked their cruises and European vacations! Ha! Maybe I should convert. ;) - Great intro. and kudos for 22 years of marriage.. And the perfect family, 1 boy, 1 girl, a cat and dog.. :) It's the fairy tale and I'm happy you have it. :)

Cynthia said...

My desk is okay though I'm always open to hearing about other brands/styles writers recommend. I'm curious- which one did you finally settle down with?

Yay for being on the second revision of your novel!

I am not a sports lover, but badminton was always something I enjoyed growing up.

Hi, Jenn,
That's a lotta desks to go through. Haven't had but three. :) I also LOVE badminton, but don't get to play much anymore since my office moved. Nice to meet you.

Badminton - cool to know! I love fencing, and placed 8th lace in foil fencing at districts many, many years ago.

I love cats and have two of them, Giada and Chester. And good luck with your revisions! It's nice to re-meet you! :)

Congrats on the 20 years! This year will make 29 for me.

Scribbles From Jenn said...

Sydney, thanks for being a loyal follower.

Regina, welcome. Nice to meet you as well.

Jackie, nice to meet another badminton lover <3

Mia, I remember those days. Keep dreaming, they do come true.

Johanna, 2 dishwashers make dinner parties easier. Now all I need is a housekeeper :)

A.J., Gypsy sounds like one smart cat. I've smelled a few backyard BBQ's that I'd like to join.

Michelle, that is a gift to be able to write wherever your pen is.

Rachel, thanks for the encouragement. I'm beginning to wonder if it will end.

Michael, sorry about your loss. We loss our little Shih Tzu after 17 years. It was tough. I hope you get a new place and new babies soon.

Susan, hooray for adding badminton! Lucky kids.

VikLit, I don't have problems with racquets but I'm lost when it comes to bats and hockey sticks.

Nikki, thanks for the compliment *blushing* Really glad you stopped by.

Meradith, appliances have a way of doing that. I grew up with a goat. Had to milk her every day.

Irene, all kinds of things from apple pie to zucchini bread.

Kern, don't give up. I'm sure your desk is out there.

Nick, I completely understand. My desk is dangerously close to the kitchen also.

Thanks Mimi. Life is good, but that's because I keep my rosy glasses on at all times.

Cynthia, the desk that worked for me is one that has a place for everything. Although I have trouble keeping everything in its place :/

Ruth, we aren't sports people either. Every year someone has to tell us when the Super Bowl is on.

Nice meeting you also J.L. I don't get to play nearly as much as I'd like to either.

Tyrean, fencing? Nice! I wanted to put my kids in that, but it was out of our price range.

Livia, glad you stopped by. Cats are great pets for teaching us patience.

Jeff, thanks. Congrats to you as well. 29 years? You must have gotten married really young!

I've always preferred to write curled up on a couch. Now it's a laptop instead of a notebook, but the couch remains.

Two dishwashers might help keep our counters more clean. Or we would just go even longer without running them and the counters would still be a mess. Hmm.

Nice to meet you!

I'm wondering if I should make some desk changes in order to kick-start me in the right direction with my writing. Thanks for the tip! :)

Nice to meet you! I'm married, have two kids (boy and girl), I'm about to become a grandma and I have two cats and a dog. I write fantasy and my current desk is so far the best. Could use some drawers, but I like everything being on the shelf within easy reach for research purposes. :D Hope you'll stop by my blog during this blogfest: www.caledonialass.blogspot.com

my desk? well, that's my lap. i write anywhere while i'm sitting somewhere...no desk for this girl :(

Azara, we do have a tendency to keep them full. Thanks for stopping by.

Melissa, you are welcome. New desks arrangements tend to inspire me.

Mel, I like my stuff near me too, which is why there's no picture of my desk :D

Tammy, I edit in my lap, but I need my desk to really work or I doze off :p

That's a lot of desks. The furnished apartment we rented here in Santander, Spain, has a big wooden desk in the office. Like the rest of the furniture that came with this place, it's old and ugly. It's the biggest desk I've ever had, though, so I can pile it with papers and books!

Two dishwashes - I don't even have one! We wash up the old fashioned way in this houshold!

Glad you finally found a desk that works for you. :)

Hi Jenn! How nice to meet you. Thank you so much for stopping by to say hello.

I have one dog and one cat. My desk is a pine kitchen table. I never did play team sports, but when I was younger, riding my bike and swimming were my favorite things.

I am your newest follower.

I have a cat and a dog too! I usually use my lap as a writing desk, but occasionally I use the desk that's in my dorm room too. I was never any good at badminton. I mostly cheered and played softball in high school.

Nice meeting you!
