Imitation Precedes Creation

My Schmooze coordinator the fabulous Sara (see sara. see sara write.) has decided to read 1,000 books by January 1st, a lofty to goal to say the least; however, a very wise one in deed. According to the master writer Stephen King before he wrote his first book he spent almost an entire year reading, then he rewrote those stories as his own. Today that is called plagiarism, but it worked for first grader Stephen King. All that reading showed him what a real story looks like and Mr. King eventually turned that experience into a career. With that said, I must go and do what else? Read!

You can't deny laughter; when it comes, it plops down in your favorite chair and stays as long as it wants. Stephen King

Yay! I'm glad my quest (with a little help from Linda Sue Parks and Stephen King) inspired you to delve into the books. Thanks!

Thank you for your post. You always inspire me! I am not sure I can read 1,000 books, but I'm sure I can do 500. I will keep you 'posted.'
